The Communications and Social Media Director is responsible for the organization’s Sacred Heart brand articulation and developing the strategic and tactical plan for all internal and external communications including: key message development, newsletters, social media management, editorial content planning, website content, and marketing collateral materials. The Communications and Social Media Director is viewed as the primary source, disseminator, and conduit of information within this internal and external constituent base.
The Communications and Social Media Director works directly for the Head of Admissions and Mission Communication and in concert with the Administrative Team on a variety of strategic initiatives.
Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across the school's discreet audiences in collaboration with the Duchesne team and constituents
Jointly coordinate and monitor annual event/calendar scheduling
Provide communications counsel to the Head of School including identifying and supporting all internal and external communication opportunities
Manage all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, event specific materials, website, email campaigns, and surveys
Work collaboratively with the Admissions and Mission Communications Department to develop a marketing strategy; implement all marketing communication activities and measure effectiveness on an annual basis
Measure Duchesne’s external brand by collecting data including, but not limited to, exit interviews, surveys, and anecdotal data
Establish media contacts and strategies to ensure appropriate relationships with local media
Develop and execute a social media strategy to engage and motivate our online presence, drive website traffic, and track and analyze analytics
Oversee crisis communications using outside strategic communications counsel as needed
Supervise two employees, Communications Associate and Receptionist
Bachelor Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
Minimum 5-7 years of experience
Ability to make independent decisions along with maintaining the confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information
High level of competence using technology, including but not limited to, Photoshop, InDesign, and Google Analytics on a Mac platform
Proficient writer and advanced editing skills
Excellent oral presentation skills
Strong references to convey your professional abilities
Broad understanding of communications strategies and vehicles to best serve the community
Keen eye for graphic design and photography; skills in both areas preferred
Successful completion of all required HR requirements including: background checks, Completion of Virtus: Protecting God's Children training, and, current CPR certification
Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
Punctuality and dependability
Ability to maintain accurate records
Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures and rules contained in the Duchesne Employee Handbook
Maintain productive relationships with all internal and external constituencies
