The position will: Manage one or more units of the Division of Patient Accounting including supervision of the Insurance Unit and one or more direct reports. Fulfill human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
Meet and improve revenue cycle operational standards by contributing revenue cycle information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying revenue cycle improvements.
Responsibilities: 50% Assist the Director of Patient Accounting in revenue cycle monitoring, management and process improvement. Supervise the Insurance unit and one or more unit such as Credentialing, Financial Reconciliation, Coding and Billing Compliance, Cashiering, PeopleSoft activities. Manage and lead the Insurance Unit by working with the Insurance Supervisor and staff to improve processes, procedures and work flow, and; to investigate, resolve and prevent recurrence of operational issues related to reimbursement levels and timely payment from payers.
20% Perform business and financial analyses independently and as requested by the Director. Develop action plans to address operational and financial opportunities and issues including the axiUm practice management system.
10% Create ad-hoc, weekly, monthly and annual financial reports. Position will become the primary axiUm practice management system financial reporting person.
10% Develop strong knowledge of University non-sponsored AR requirements and Federal regulations, rules and policies related to billing and documentation compliance.
10% Manage financial and operational projects and other duties as assigned.

BA/BS plus at least 4 years of professional accounting work experience or a combination or related education and work experience to equal 8 years.
