RESPONSIBILITIES: Tasks listed are a description of the way this job is currently performed and are not an exhaustive list of all the tasks that may be required for each physical demand.
Monitor and oversee new hire eligibility, status change eligibility, and training notification processes.
Administer, under guidance of Benefits Manager, company benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, COBRA, short-term disability, long-term disability, life/accidental death & dismemberment, flexible spending accounts, wellness program and 401(k), etc.
Benefits Specialist v10/2016
Work with internal partners to effectively deliver changes, updates and communications.
Maintain updated materials and communications of plan options/processes on internal communication outlets, such as benefits home page, and source material as needed.
Assist with Open Enrollment process annually by completing required processes, providing information, answering questions, and providing customer service to all associates.
Responsible for leading implementation(s) for programs under the direction of Benefit Manager.
Manage and respond to benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
Administer life events, National Support Orders, and other tasks dealing with plan administration.
Update, compile, audit, and process reports as needed or deemed necessary by Benefits Manager.
Perform necessary transactions to ensure accuracy of changes, additions and deletions of benefits in multiple systems.
Perform billing reconciliations and payment of vendor invoicing and communicate when issues or discrepancies arise.
Upload eligibility and remittance files while ensuring accuracy of all data uploads.
Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, Alliance policies and procedures.
Provide leave of absence administration, including disseminating information to associates, and their leadership.
Administering FMLA, CFRA and PDL notifications, tracking and status changes needed to fully manage leave of absences full cycle.
Work with third party vendors and internal partners to effectively manage leaves.
Contribute to the improvement of departmental procedural workflow processes of using continuous improvement methodologies, which include eligibility and enrollment processes, vendor performance monitoring.
Works as a team with broker(s), carriers, payroll, and HR representatives to resolve escalated claims and benefits issues in a timely manner when needed.
Provides support administratively to Benefits Manager, Human Resources Department Leadership and executive level staff.
Responsible for complete filing of paperwork and assist with maintaining of benefit files for associates.
Any other tasks assigned or directed.
