Summary of Duties:
The Public Relations Coordinator position supports the international dimension of Ohio State by assisting in advancing the organizational goals through thoughtful and deliberate communications initiatives. The position promotes the University’s commitment to become a preeminent global University and is dedicated to enhancing and furthering the communication strategies for the programs and services that fall under the International Affairs umbrella. To establish and accomplish objectives, this position requires collaboration across units and across multiple stakeholder groups on a regular basis.
Working within the Communications Unit, the public relations coordinator develops internal and external communications to promote International Affairs’ programs and activities. Duties include but are not limited to promoting information sessions, workshops, events, grants and scholarships and other international news and activities; maintaining, updating, and writing for the website; drafting speeches, correspondence, talking points and messages; assisting in the management of social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; writing and producing print and electronic newsletters and news and feature stories; editing promotional pieces written by other OIA staff members; creating Power Point presentations; assisting in the management of content on digital monitors; assisting in the layout and design of printed materials; and maintaining the Ohio State brand by following the visual communications guidelines.

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in writing, editing, publicity, marketing, publication production; experience in digital communications.
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and web content management systems; strong understanding of digital environment.
Target Salary: $20.20 - $22.12 Hourly
