The successful candidate assists the VP/CMO in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the office, relieving the VP/CMO of a wide range of managerial and divisional duties that vary in scope and in level of complexity. Key responsibilities include ensuring that projects and tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner, including coordinating and reviewing materials from areas reporting to the VP/CMO; assisting in the coordination of office activities, including drafting internal and external correspondence; data-gathering and research on a variety of issues; preparing responses to outside queries; and preparing materials, memorandums, reports, and talking points for the VP/CMO. Additionally, this position will work extensively with internal and external contacts and will stay current with national higher education trends.
The ideal candidate will have experience within a communications/public affairs organization; exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; knowledge of financial, operational, and administrative policies and procedures; ability to exercise appropriate discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential issues; and an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities A Bachelor's degree with at least four years of relevant experience or advanced degree with at least one year of relevant experience is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
