The intern will assist the senior credit analyst in monitoring a large portfolio of bond issuers under his/her coverage as well as in the internal communication of its fundamental credit assessment to Portfolio Managers and Management. The mission includes the following duties: Analyse financial statements and build financial models including projections. Analyse key credit metrics evolution. Perform peer analysis including qualitative and quantitative assessment. Anticipate rating agencies upgrades or downgrades. Help in the process of assigning internal ratings. Participate in due diligence meetings with CFOs and Treasurers during issuers' road-show. Develop excel analytical/monitoring tools. Assist senior analysts in producing and drafting high quality credit research, credit update and sector reviews published internally to Portfolio Managers or Management.Required Skills: Excellent Quantitative and Qualitative Analytical Skills – The candidate should be able to analyse company's financial statements and develop comprehension of industry cycles. Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills – The candidate should be able to express well documented opinions in a professional manner. Self-Starter – Needs to be curious and questioning to challenge the obvious and develop a well thought out investment thesis. Candidate should be quick, flexible and responsive with a keen eye for detail. Languages – Fluent in English. Fluency in another European language desirable. Credit and Legal Skills – Ability to dig into bond documentation and understand covenant clauses will be a plus. IT Skills – Needs to master excel, word, power point.
