The Public Relations Manager is responsible for for the public relations and publicity needs of the entire organization including all ZACH Theatre productions, special events, fundraising activities, and projects for individual departments. The Public Relations Manager plays a key role in the promotion of ZACH Theatre's mission and strategically increasing overall brand awareness on a local, regional and national scale.
Create, write, and implement annual publicity strategy and tactics, taking into account the measurable and reportable outcomes in line with existing Strategic Plan.
Generate press kit materials (press release, bios, head shots, production photography, b-roll, etc.) in order to develop and maintain effective relationships with key journalists and industry influences across the country.
Secure diverse local, regional, and national coverage in print, broadcast, and electronic media including feature stories on ZACH productions, human interest stories, big picture stories, reviews and listings.
Schedule and facilitate press interviews and dedicated press nights including media tours and opening nights.
Serve as main point of contact for external photographers and videographers.
Create editorial and social media content for various online outlets both internally and externally while serving as the main social media generator and point of contact.
Work with Chief Marketing and Community Engagement Officer to determine organizational communication strategies during crisis situations.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
Minimum of five years institutional or agency public relations experience.
Preferred experience in non-profit, performing arts organizations.
