Duties and Responsibilities:
The Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston (UH) anticipates an open rank position beginning in fall 2017. The position is in the area of research methodology leveraging the NSF's Empirical Implications of Theoretical Models (EITM) initiative. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a record predictive of future scholarly productivity, potential and commitment to develop and sustain a nationally competitive program of research with implications for public policy, capability and commitment to contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs and a doctoral degree or equivalent. The Hobby School emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and affiliation. Individuals with cross-cutting disciplinary and/or methodological interests are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those with interest in working with diverse populations.
Research methodology faculty are expected to have familiarity with the NSF's EITM initiative (see http://www.nsf.gov/sbe/ses/polisci/reports/pdf/eitmreport.pdf) and serve at the Hobby School's EITM Summer Research Institute (see http://www.uh.edu/class/hcpp/eitm/index.php).
