Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists faculty members in developing proposals for external funding sources and implementing funding plans, to include grant and contract development.
Coordinates with research faculty to develop, audit and review grant proposals and service contracts.
Conducts preliminary reviews of Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Request for Announcements (RFAs) in order to determine program and contract elements.
Provide expertise and counseling to faculty in the areas of sponsor trends, funding opportunities, allowable costs, budget preparation and applicable agency guidelines.
Acts as sponsor contact, in coordination with the Office of Contracts and Grants, to communicate with contributing organizations regarding proposals, audit activities and periodic reports.
Facilitates communication between the Office of Contracts and Grants, the dean of the college and research faculty.
Offers orientation and training to research faculty.
Participates in the Office of Contracts and Grants briefings and training as necessary.
Stays abreast of faculty interests and research expertise in order to stimulate funding opportunities.
Oversees college external funding accounts in cooperation with the college business administrator.
Develops and administers a tracking database for proposals, awards and expenditures; and prepares an external funding report for the college.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requires a directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
