Under the direction of the India Country Director of The Mittal Institute (MI), the Communications Manager will be responsible for the following broad roles under the Tata Trust funded Project: Content & Communication Material
Creating all communication materials related to the Tata Trusts funded projects – posters, invites, blogs, articles related to the program etc
Managing and uploading the website content about the different components of the Projects on the Mittal Institute website and on social media handles
Building relationships and networks with journalists across the country to share the work of the Institute.
Drafting and disseminating press releases to highlight work under of the projects.
Liaising with journalists and scheduling interviews for guests and faculty's research in India.
Assisting in planning and execution of communication outreach materials events related to part of the project/program related events in India the projects.
She/he will also work with the MI communications and outreach coordinator manager in Cambridge in order to match the look and feel of the overall coordinate communications materials produced in the Cambridge office of the Institute. The Communications Manager will work with the ICD India Country Director to develop and implement a communications strategies on a continuous basis. The Communications Manager should be able to take charge of overall conceptualization and hands-on implementation of the communication needs of the Projects funded through the Tata grant.
The LMSAI engages faculty and students through interdisciplinary programs to advance and deepen the teaching and research on global issues relevant to South Asia. Founded in 2003 to further Harvard University's engagement with South Asia, LMSAI is a university-wide research institute at Harvard that engages faculty members, students, and in region institutions through interdisciplinary programs to disseminate knowledge, build capacity, inform policy, and engage with issues that are shaping South Asia today.
This is a grant funded position for two years

3 or more years communications experience.
M.A. preferred. Experience with Microsoft office, In Design, Adobe Suite, and Word Press required. Must possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills, and work well in a team, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have cultural and relational sensitivity. Experience with social media in the work place desired. Must be able to prioritize projects and meet deadlines; have excellent computer skills, including designing and maintaining the website. The candidate should have permission to work in India.
