As a Social Media Video Producer, you will be expected to know the latest trends and bring ideas that will build on our existing social media content in exciting ways. You must be able to analyze trends, data, and timely topics to quickly identify opportunities for social-first videos. You will be part of the official news organization of Northeastern and will be working on a team that is responsible for promoting the university through storytelling that includes hard news, creative features and everything in between. You must also be an avid consumer of news in general, both local and global.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years shooting and editing in a professional environment. Experience producing engaging videos specifically designed for social media preferred. Ability to ideate, produce, shoot and edit engaging, timely and relevant social-first video content, from pre-production through final delivery. Strong skills in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and other social media editing tools. Proficiency with Canon C100's, audio and lighting in field and studio environments. Ability to shoot solo or with a team, and to pursue projects with minimal direction. In-depth knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Snapchat, with a focus on how video can and should be utilized on each platform. Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends, developments and best practices. Knowledge of key social video metrics and how they impact user behavior and business decisions. Self-starter with the ability to be proactive, set priorities and give and receive feedback in a fast-paced environment and a news cycle that includes nights and weekends. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining speed and consistency. Excellent work ethic and positive attitude. Sense of humor.
