Information Technology Services (ITS) at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Communications Specialist. This position will work with technology professionals to develop and implement technology-related communications campus wide. The Communications Specialist will create content for print and digital platforms, social media, newsletters, and special projects, and will work closely with department leadership to develop messaging for the campus community.
ITS provides core computing, network services, enterprise systems, and information security resources to the students, faculty, and staff of ISU. ITS partners with IT professionals from around campus to provide more specialized IT resources to ISU's academic and business units.
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to comprehend and summarize technical information for a non-technical audience, and strong presentation and interpersonal skills. A bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or Graphic Design is preferred.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and related experience.

Working knowledge of AP Style
Experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Experience designing promotional materials and brand elements.
Experience using a DSLR camera.
Experience shooting and editing video using iMovie, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut.
