Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Head Coach – Men’s Soccer for The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the Rutgers University Men's Soccer intercollegiate athletic program, which provides an opportunity for student-athletes to train and compete on a competitive, Division I men's soccer program while attending school to earn a college degree.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Establishes and maintains a nationally competitive intercollegiate men's soccer team in the Big Ten and NCAA.
Recruits high level academically and athletically skilled male students to attend Rutgers and to participate in the men's soccer program.
Schedules, organizes and conducts practices and competitions at a high level of efficiency and success.
Develops, teaches and instructs the student-athletes in the proper rules of play, conditioning, skills and techniques on the field and in life-skills and leadership qualities on and off the field.
Fundraises and assists in public relation events that support the objectives of the program and allow for program enhancements.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree required; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of three years coaching experience, preferably on the intercollegiate level.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Big Ten and NCAA rules and regulations
Good organizational, communication and public relations skills
Must be computer literate
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel, when necessary, to sites throughout New Jersey for business demands.
Head coaching experience at the intercollegiate level preferred.
