Job Summary: Help execute a robust, forward-thinking corporate sustainability program at Morgan Stanley. Work internally across the Firm to advance corporate sustainability activities and employee engagement on sustainability at Morgan Stanley. This role will help drive and enhance the Firm's approach to sustainability by partnering with GSF leadership and key internal stakeholders across the Firm to execute against the firm's sustainability strategy.
Responsibilities: - Lead day-to-day project management of the Firm's activities in support of its sustainability strategy - Build working relationships with key partners across the firm in its business units, as well as functional support areas such as operations and supply chain, human resources, and others - Execution and project management on the above activities - Track metrics and progress to feed into the Firm's sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement processes and activities - Coordinate employee-focused events covering key sustainability topics - Help inform executives on the advancement of these activities by leveraging inputs from: stakeholder engagement and materiality processes; risk management initiatives; operations; human resources; Firm business units, and others - Develop a strategy for, and help to drive, internal employee engagement around the Firm's sustainability activities and targeting that messaging as needed by working closely with the Firm's Corporate Services and Internal Communications functions - Represent GSF in internal, cross-functional working groups related to sustainable operations and supply chain - Track emerging and developing sustainability practices at peer firms and in the marketplace to help keep the Firm's activities relevant and aligned with the external environment - Conduct research on emerging sustainability topics and monitor emerging ESG issues on an ongoing basis - Support the integration of climate change considerations into Morgan Stanley's operations and businesses - Potentially assist with additional GSF and Institute for Sustainable Investing activities, as needed
-The successful candidate must have 5 years of professional experience, with 2+ years of corporate sustainability in either an in-house or a consulting role -The candidate will also have proven experience successfully delivering within a fast-paced environment, and ideally, the financial services industry -Other required, demonstrated skills include: -Problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills -Adeptness at translating detailed, nuanced information into a summary for a senior executive audience -Strong project management skills with proven execution results -Experience in key relevant environmental, social and governance issues as it relates to corporate operations (i.e. energy management/efficiency, waste reduction, green real estate), supply chain sustainability strategies and employee engagement -Strong communications skills both written (long form and presentations) and verbal for a business/executive audience -Comfort with balancing multiple priorities that may change day to day -Ability to operate collaboratively in a team culture -Quantitative skills, specifically around sustainability, energy, supply chain and other corporate ESG metrics -Tenacity, passion and drive for results through effective relationship building and "managing up" -Effective multi-tasker, with ability to manage stakeholders and prioritize work with support from senior team members -Strong attention to detail, in particular quality assurance of written deliverables and nuanced messaging of complex topics for a sophisticated audience -Experience in the financial sector and/or Series 7 license holder preferred -BA/BS degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred
