The role holder will assist with the development and implementation of the Reputational Risk Framework across Barclays.
Developing and implementing a risk taxonomy appropriate to Reputational Risk.
Developing and implementing a control library appropriate to Reputational Risk, adhering to the requirements of relevant policies and standards.
Analysing risks, controls and relevant MI to enable a Risk and Control Self-Assessment to be completed enterprise wide for Reputational Risk.
Representing Corporate Relations as Reputational Risk Horizontal Owner on various working groups including those relating to the development of the 2019 RCSA methodology.
Proactively developing solutions and driving satisfactory outcomes on tasks stet by the main Reputational Risk Working Group.
Managing working groups relating to activities necessary for the implementation of the Reputational Risk Framework.
Reporting on progress, to the main Reputational Risk working group, escalating issues as appropriate.
Representing the Reputational Risk working group where technology development is required to track and monitor Reputational Risk.
Establishing how Reputational Risk is covered in group wide governance such as New Product Approvals, Business Reviews, Product Reviews, Transaction Reviews developing and implementing required enhancements to align with relevant policies and standards.
Developing training and reference materials relating to the governance of Reputational Risk for use across the firm. Acting as subject matter expert for any queries relating to the governance of Reputational Risk in accordance with the Reputational Risk Framework and all relevant policies and standards.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Working closely with the Head of Reputational Risk (Director), Head of Corporate Relations Governance (Director) and Compliance to help develop and embed the Reputational Risk Framework, Policies and Standards across the firm, globally.
Preparation of relevant materials and addressing queries around reporting and reputational risk management information across the firm.
As horizontal risk owner, lead the RCSA for Reputational Risk across Barclays, providing check, challenge and advice for businesses across Barclays on how reputational risk should be recorded.
Represent Corporate Relations as necessary on working groups relating to the recording and governance of Reputational Risk within Barclays, globally.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
Work with governance functions (e.g.) IRM, GIS, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, BCM) to analyse and interpret policies and standards applicable to Reputational risk, to clearly understand what is required of Corporate Relations as Horizontal Risk Owner, what is appropriate and achievable for the department to deliver and support.
As global horizontal risk owner review, challenge and ensure accurate and appropriate recording of Reputational Risk incidents, events, issues and actions.
Check, challenge and ensure appropriate governance relating to reputational risk waivers and dispensations, which may be being considered via MD level business risk meetings such as IB Transaction Review Committee.
Investigating, tracking, escalating as appropriate and assisting with the resolution of incidents, risk events, issues, actions, lessons learnt relating to Reputational Risk globally, driving appropriate outcomes with stakeholders.
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Credibility to appropriately challenge individuals (including senior MD level) or teams on adherence to existing or new governance and stand their ground on points of principle where necessary.
