The Supervisor operates at the department level with local oversight, reports to the Manager of Clinical Services and is responsible for day to day operations of Nursing, Home Health Aide, Medical Records, and Coding. Responsibilities include department CQI activities which increase efficiency of work flow and improve customer and overall satisfaction. Also responsible for the supervision of patient care services and operational functions of assigned areas to meet goals and objectives in accordance with its standards, policies and regulatory compliance requirements. Responsible for implementing system wide quality, service, business development strategies as well as identifying and developing market specific growth strategies for product line, services and geographic area.
Provides input to Manager or Director for capital, operating and staffing budgets. Provide fiscal oversight of allocated resources, assets and expenses. Makes recommendations to adjust for variations in projected budget income caused by fluctuating volumes and other external forces.
With input and support from the Manager or Director, provide Human Resources leadership to direct reports through effective hiring, orientating, training, mentoring and coaching. Provide ongoing recognition, feedback and development, holding staff accountable for success. Ensure appropriate resources are provided to staff. Provide input for a staffing plan that meets both customer expectations and financial constraints. Create an environment where Employee Engagement feedback facilitates positive change.
Provides leadership to direct reports in the execution of work plans and short term goals. Implements department level changes to supporting processes and systems. Supports the implementation of solutions to department level challenges. Implements and completes department goals.
Ensures Home Care Services are in full compliance with appropriate local, state and federal accreditation body rules and regulations.
Participates in establishing and maintaining policies and procedures that are consistent with the mission and strategic goals and ensures safe and therapeutically effective service to patients and family. Actively participates and assumes leadership role on related committees and task force.
Enforces high patient care standards through regular tracking and monitoring of clinical outcomes.
Monitors daily reports and makes adjustments to increase efficiency of work processes.
Monitors staff productivity and makes staffing adjustments to correspond with patient volume variations.
Assists, or as needed directly responsible with input or direction from the Manager or Director, in the recruitment and selection of new staff for Inpatient Hospice. Conducts interviews with potential candidates in a professional manner. Ensures training, orientation and on-boarding programs are efficient and effective.
Assists in developing and managing budget to comply with established goals and objectives, allocates funds and ensures that the departments operate within budgetary guidelines. Prepares monthly team or branch reports and dashboard that describes outcome activity in the clinical, operational and budgetary areas. Describes and justifies variances from budget. Assists in projecting and monitoring costs for new and established programs including staffing projections, capital expenditures and other operational costs. Assists in managing contracts for services to assure compliance with budget.
Develops collaborative and cooperative relationships with internal partners, entities of ProHealth Care and other customers, physicians, as well as community organizations. Establishes and promotes positive public relations with the medical, business, political and consumer segments of the current and potential service area.
Assures field supervisory visits are accurately completed according to agency policy and as necessary.
Monitors results of chart audits and assures that corrective action is taken. Identifies trends in audits and communicates results to Clinical Manager.
Implements strategies to monitor and assure physician satisfaction for patients on their team/branch.
Identifies business opportunities and community needs, and partakes in developing and implementing strategies to take advantage of these opportunities.
Responsible for understanding and adhering to the PHC Code of Excellence and for ensuring personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised comply with the policies, regulations and laws that affect ProHealth Care's business.
Minimum Education Level Bachelors
Minimum of 2-4 Years of prior Home Health experience
Current BLS from the American Heart Association
Additional Minimum Requirements:
Current clinical license (PT, OT, SP or RN) granted by the State of Wisconsin.
Current Driver's license granted by the state of residency with a driving record that meets ProHealth Care's safety standards.
Additional Preferred Requirement:
At least three years of Leadership experience which includes work with staff and budgets at the supervisor and/or manager level.
