The Director of Admission and Financial Aid is responsible for managing student enrollment and directing the admission process. S/He also serves as an administrator responsible for assisting with the operations of the school and always promoting positive relationships with groups and individuals inside and outside of the Academy’s community.
Duties and responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
Oversee the recruitment and enrollment of new students, including developing and executing a strategic enrollment and retention strategy.
Present the school to prospective students and parents in a variety of settings on campus and off, which includes interviews with candidates and their parents, and communicating with families throughout the application and enrollment process
Communicate final admission decisions to the appropriate individuals
Manage the admissions office and appropriate admissions and marketing materials, mailings and publications
Organize and administer, with the Head of School, the Financial Aid Committee, which allocates financial aid and scholarships to qualifying students
Evaluate continually and redesign where appropriate all aspects of the admissions program with the goal of maintaining a capacity enrollment
Manage the rolling admissions process
Manage the re-enrollment of current students for the succeeding year
Oversee the network of parents, former parents, and alumni as ambassadors to the school
Record, interpret, and present relevant statistics on all aspects of admission and re-enrollment
Present at various gatherings and conferences to increase visibility of our programs
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
Coordinate marketing efforts with the Head of School, Advancement office, and Director of Marketing
Perform external efforts to promote Grand River Academy’s program
Attend secondary school fairs at feeder programs
Create and maintain all listings and subscriptions in educational directories and organizations
Assist with publications including view books, brochures, and newsletters
Maintain and create current/new referral sources such as feeder schools, other schools, guidance counselors, educational consultants (IECA & International), and wilderness/therapeutic programs
Attend all faculty meetings
Serve as a member of the Administrative Team
Plan and attend all registration days including fall, semester, and summer
Support the school and its leadership.
May require weekend and evening work.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university :Master's Degree (preferred)
Experience with recruitment, admissions, or a similar field
Skill or interest in public relations, communications, parent relations, strategic marketing, board relations, or school management
An engaging, positive, creative, and personable attitude
Ability to communicate, self-organize, and accomplish varied tasks
Experience in new recruitment techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in database management, Microsoft programs, and Google Drive is required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and frequent deadlines
Ability to work easily with the GRA community, including faculty, students, fellow staff, etc.
Successful completion of a background and drug screen
