Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Edit/Media Specialist for the RBHS Communications Department. This position reports to the Director, Health Communications and Marketing. This position supports Rutgers Health in the planning, management, and execution of a variety of communications and marketing initiatives and projects. The Senior Edit/Media Specialist is responsible for researching, writing, and editing varied materials, including e-mail announcements and newsletters, web and digital content, advertising, publications, reports, social media posts and other materials.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Plans, develops and project manages assignments in consultation with the Director of Health Communications and Marketing that most effectively supports the Rutgers Health brand. Works directly in content management systems and other tools to create, update, and maintain webpages and produce digital communications.
Edits own work and the work of others. Serves as backup to the Director.
Provides research, writing, and substantive editing on projects as assigned, producing highly effective marketing and communications copy that incorporates brand messaging and is targeted to specific consumer/patient audiences.
Works collaboratively with others throughout RBHS to ensure communications are developed with attention to clarity, detail, and accuracy and that most effectively conveys the Rutgers Health brand.
Manages the development and execution of health communications and marketing initiatives and projects, including websites, publications, digital communication, and other materials.
Works directly in content management system and other tools.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge, skill, and understanding of writing, editing, proofreading, publishing, marketing, organizational coordination, and/or facilitation.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a communications, editorial, or marketing role.
