The LIU Pharmacy – Axon Fellowship program offers PharmD graduates the exceptional opportunity to develop skills in the field of medical communications. The Fellow will gain expertise through hands-on experiences in all aspects of this industry – from molecule to market. The Fellow will participate in and contribute to a range of projects including strategic medical communications, public relations, clinical trial services and market access communications.
The Fellow will be based at Axon, located in Rye Brook, New York, which is just north of New York City. The Fellow will work with the company’s clients to create materials in a variety of formats for different audiences. This will be achieved primarily via writing and editing scientific documents. The Fellow will also work with other members of the team to provide expert consultancy services to the pharmaceutical industry to create plans, campaigns and strategies that enable dissemination of medical or scientific information in the most effective way.
The Fellow will also engage in academic activities through LIU Pharmacy. The Fellow will assist in precepting LIU Pharmacy students enrolled in an advanced pharmacy practice experience in medical communications at Axon, will be expected to deliver presentations/lectures at LIU Pharmacy on his/her topic of expertise, and will be required to partake in a research project in collaboration with members of the LIU Pharmacy faculty and/or staff. The Fellow will have the opportunity to engage in other academic activities, including mentoring LIU Pharmacy students, completing a teaching certificate program, and preparing/delivering continuing education programs through the College’s Department of Continuing Education.
This is a 12-month program that will be available July 1, 2019. The Fellow will be an employee of LIU Pharmacy.
REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Pharmacy degree; a record of educational and professional achievement; exceptional interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Salary Information: Salary and benefits provided through LIU-Pharmacy. In addition to the base salary, a travel stipend is provided for approved travel.
