Manages all aspects of designated Member Services programs to ensure program goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames, budget, and operational direction. Position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of projects at the same time and interacting with customers and volunteers. This position is responsible for programs that involve multiple internal and external stakeholders and the successful candidate will be able to work with outside vendors, partners, and internal department stakeholders as well. Responsible for setting long-term goals and responsible for implementing project management best practices to accomplish those goals.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages all AVIXA’s volunteer council groups. Responsible for managing volunteers, facilitating conversations, and ensuring projects get completed on time, and on budget, on an annual basis.
Identify volunteer leaders and train those individuals for upcoming volunteer opportunities within the organization
Responsible for increasing volunteer engagement and new volunteer recruitment
Manages member company certification program called the Audiovisual Provider of Excellence or APEx Program. Responsible for direction of the program and adding new members to the program. Responsible for generating annual revenue for this program.
Oversee volunteers and collaborate with staff on several programs/events at AVIXA’s InfoComm tradeshow and other events within the Member Services department
Act as a liaison to AVIXA’s event partners and is responsible for maintaining good and strong relationships with AVIXA’s partner organizations
Lead AVIXA’s awards program. Manage a volunteer Awards Committee and oversees the annual awards event at AVIXA’s InfoComm tradeshow each June.
Works with Member Services staff and cross-departmental teams to develop and implement new program ideas
Ability to travel 5-10% of the time

Education: Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years customer service/ program management experience or 5 years equivalent experience in managing programs
3 years’ minimum experience in managing programs, volunteers, budget and revenues- preferred
Experience managing staff- preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of online collaboration/webinar tools such as WebEx extremely helpful
Other skills: Not-for-profit knowledge and experience required, volunteer management skills required, leadership, communication, and writing skills are also required. Supervisory experience required. Ability to work cross-departmentally to achieve goals and maintain good relationships with various departments within the association. Event planning experience required. Audiovisual (AV) Industry knowledge is highly desirable.
