The University of Pittsburgh, a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, seeks a highly motivated individual with strong communications skills for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Media Relations.
The individual will serve as a primary contact for assigned Olympic sports. Responsibilities will include: - Developing and managing publicity for assigned teams and coordinating interviews and photo shoots with coaches and student-athletes - Writing, editing and managing department communication materials for assigned teams - Generating content, including videos, and managing website updates on the athletic department website, www.pittsburghpanthers.com - Coordinating and managing game day staff and maintaining records and statistics for assigned teams - Assisting with social media communication for the department - Traveling with assigned teams
Bachelor's degree required preferably with a degree in journalism, public relations, English, communications or a related field. A minimum two (2) years of athletic media relations experience in a collegiate or professional setting or a related field is required.
