The Communications Specialist II is responsible for keeping up with the ever-changing landscape of communications, assisting the Creative Manager in researching, brainstorming, designing, implementing, and producing cross channel graphics, publications, communications, and advertisements. The position is also responsible for the maintenance and the continual refreshing of content in a digital asset management library and on digital screens and our websites.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience in multimedia/graphics design, digital marketing, WordPress development/design, or marketing & communications.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. or an equivalent design environment.)
Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn Digital Asset Management system theory, administration, and maintenance.
Familiarity with and willingness to learn web services and applications such as Basecamp, WordPress, EventBrite, Mailchimp and other similar services.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Licenses, Certifications and Registrations
The ideal candidate will display initiative, a willingness to learn, and a willingness to ask questions. This candidate will need to work cooperatively with others and bring fresh ideas, their individual voice, and enthusiasm to the team.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work occasional after hours and weekends.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Five years of professional experience in a combination of multimedia/graphics design, digital marketing, WordPress development/administration.
Two years of experience in higher education.

An understanding of branding and working within a brand. Proven experience working within a brand environment while displaying creativity and visual communication principles.
Photo editing theory, software, hardware, and practical knowledge.
Video editing theory, software, hardware and practical knowledge.
Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Functioning knowledge level of how WordPress Multi-sites operate and how services like Mailchimp integrate with WordPress.
Preferred candidates will feel comfortable with social media and maintains an engaging social media presence.
Executing existing graphic templates, ideas and looks according to client needs across a variety of output formats. Producing graphic elements and capturing photo elements for use within larger publications or websites.
Assists in creating specific graphics and digital slides; resizing, editing, and locating photos; and creating templates for social media, emails, and other digital communications. Assists with managing and scheduling digital slide requests for the school. Assists with web graphics or information updates in our Wordpress site environment. Serves as backup on social media platforms such as Postano.
Designs new graphic communications pieces and communications systems within the Texas A&M and Mays Business School Brand. This may include print materials, advertising campaigns, digital communications, large format signage, event materials, websites etc.
Assist in managing, uploading to, and maintaining the school s digital asset management library.
Researching production strategies or formats. Keeping abreast of industry advancements and learning opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.
