We are searching for candidates who can bring a combination of fundraising and communications skills and experience to the NNM community. This Annual Giving and Communications Manager position is responsible for developing annual fundraising plans, objectives and strategies along with guiding the school's communications and marketing initiatives to consistently articulate NNM’s mission, values and programs.
Some specific responsibilities include:
Develop and lead a comprehensive annual giving program including direct mail and e-mail solicitation strategies. The focus will be on expanding the organization's annual giving program with a goal of significantly increasing the base of annual gifts.
Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through face-to-face solicitation, online giving, direct mail campaigns, special events, and proposals
Develop timelines, status reports, prospect management reports and other instruments as needed to track annual fundraising progress
Prepare tailored solicitation materials such as direct mail letters, gift proposals, newsletters, presentation pieces and other materials as needed
Implement communications activities across the school’s various outlets in alignment with mission, Head of School strategic vision, and key message points
Write extensively for a variety of audiences and outlets, including both long- and short-form journalism. Collaborate with other departments, faculty, and student groups to identify and develop story ideas that promote and enhance the NNM brand
Oversee, manage, and implement the production of print and electronic publications for parents, students, grandparents, and other constituents including, but not limited to a weekly e-newsletter that is rich with updates on community events and calendar items curriculum highlights, photos, and announcements
Develop communication vehicles and channels to create momentum and awareness regarding NNM campaigns, programs and events; work with team to track effectiveness
Manage website content; ensure that new and consistent information is posted regularly, such as weekly highlights, articles, links, events and stories
Create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that is fully integrated with other communications efforts at NNM. Manage the day-to-day activities of the school’s official social media channels
Staff liaison to the Communications Committee and other volunteer groups who are involved in the communications work of the school; provide information, reports, material and guidance on the marketing and communications plans
Bachelor’s Degree; Four (4) years experience in a fundraising position/setting; Previous experience in communications and/or public relations role
Must be able to establish and develop strong relationships with departmental and organizational leaders, and champion a culture of continuous learning
Extensive writing experience for a variety of audiences and media
A highly energetic and enthusiastic personality, with excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management skills
The ability to work both independently and as a team player
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
Expertise in strategic social media planning and implementation with experience in website content management (Finalsite preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and Raiser’s Edge
