Position provides leadership, supervision, and coordination of clinical care support staff and ambulatory services for the Department of Neurology.� Establishes accountability for performance in each of the areas of management, including nursing and ambulatory clinical activity.� This position analyzes staffing/supply needs, implements effective practices, and maximizes efficiencies to ensure quality, patient satisfaction, and that the Department’s operational and financial goals are met.� They will provide nursing and clinical assistance, as needed for the day-to-day clinical operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Aligns with the Department of Neurology’s Mission, Vision, and Service Culture by demonstrating a high commitment to service excellence and quality through all interactions with faculty, staff, referring physicians, patients and their families.
Leads, develops, and supports the ambulatory clinical staff team.� Accountable for the coordination of patient services with physicians, clinic/scheduling staff and section staff to provide quality care effectively and efficiently.� Maintain a presence in the clinic to provide nursing and clinical assistance to the physicians, fellows and clinical staff.� Promotes and maintains good public relations with section teams, providers, provider teams, patients and their families.�
Continuous evaluation of employee performance for each area of responsibility. Address & resolve personnel issues. Maintains job descriptions and conducts annual performance evaluations. Directs, assigns, and coordinates activities/duties of staff, hiring/orienting staff, and advising administration of conditions; coordinates and ensures completion of staff continuing education, in-service, and quality improvement activities, staff programs/skills training, and meetings.� Collaborates with the Clinical Operations Coordinator and Director on maintaining clinical and staff policies and procedures in compliance with the Department of Neurology, the medical school, and state/federal regulatory requirements on an annual basis.
Assists the Director of Clinical Operations and Section leadership on overall strategy development, quality improvements, service excellence initiatives, and team building.� Assist with implementation of annual operational objectives and performance targets for clinical performance indicators.� Identifies problems and organizing teams to implement solutions.
Demonstrates cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and accurate monitoring, ordering, and repairing clinic supplies, drugs and equipment as required to ensure the quality of care and operational standard are maintained.
Maintains a sample medication process that is compliant with WUSM.
Other duties as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program, plus a minimum of 3 years of related clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.
Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with the Compact Act; Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.).
Working knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The hiring range for this position is $64,605 - $90,438 annually.
