Serve as liaison between Dean, Assistant Dean, Communication Studies faculty, students, and community partners in the area of TV production facilities and Communication Studies program facilities needs.
Maintain equipment in control room, studio, and Mac lab, ensuring that all units are functioning properly. Close down the studio and lab properly after each use.
Perform as back-up to Senior Liaison for weekly equipment checks in the control room, studio, and Mac lab and maintaining a log recording the weekly equipment checks, abnormalities, and issues such as power outages.
Perform as back-up to Senior Liaison in work with the TV engineer regarding equipment upgrades and repairs in studio. Report information and request to Assistant Dean for approval. Assist engineer as needed and report outcomes.
Prepare studio, control room, and Mac lab for class use in conjunction with COMM faculty. Provide technical assistance for media production courses.
Perform as back-up to the Senior Liaison in providing supervision and technical assistance during SSTV studio shoots.
Establish effective lighting and set design for studio use, ensuring that all configurations are in place prior to the start of each studio taping.
Train students (who haven’t had TV production courses) on how to operate all studio and control room equipment.
Oversee the preparation and execution of “TV Production Partners” shows, including the execution of graphics, video editing and the delivery of content in various formats to television stations, as necessary.
Work with a student crew on “TV Production Partners” shows. Communicate with “TV Production Partners” clients and guests, faculty and administration.
Attend meetings concerning Communication Studies program business and “TV Production Partners” shows.
Perform as back up to Senior Liaison in assisting with Comcast Newsmakers program monthly. Responsible for setting lights, sets and for troubleshooting during taping.
Provide Mac lab coverage, including signing out of equipment, maintenance and inventory of equipment in lab.
Provide TV studio coverage, including supervision of and assistance to students in their use of equipment. Supervise student workers. Assist students, as needed, with projects.
Serve as back up to Senior Liaison to Communication Studies & Academic Support in duplication and transfer of media formats. Assist Senior Liaison in researching information regarding software and equipment purchases.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Assistant Dean.

BA in Communications Studies – Media Production
Knowledge of HDTV studio operations and equipment, audio/video field equipment, video/audio editing software.
Software: Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, and ProTools audio software
Salary commensurate with experience.
