The Part You Play:
As a senior leader on the External Affairs & Consumer Stakeholder Engagement team, you will lead the national public relations programming and external communications strategies to drive overall business goals and enhance Allstate’s reputation across key stakeholders. You will provide oversight of the planning and execution of Allstate’s signature PR programs and will lead integration across Corporate Relations, Marketing and Innovation teams to raise awareness of Allstate as caring, customer-centric and innovative, and increase consideration of Allstate as the company of choice for consumers.
Lead the planning and execution of integrated and comprehensive traditional and social media platforms and strategies to amplify key messages, create broader and positive awareness through the expanded use of all media channels; measurably improve Allstate’s reputation among key stakeholders.
Oversee national PR programming and proactive external media to ensure alignment with business objectives and financial commitments.
Lead the integration and consistency of external messaging and linkages across Corporate Relations and other business areas or companies.
Collaborate with the CR Strategy, Research & Measurement team to develop and monitor external measurement strategies and adapt plans based on key findings.
Develop, manage and integrate a multifaceted external positioning strategy in partnership with the CR Thought Leadership & CEO Engagement team.
Help proactively manage emerging and existing issues that may affect overall business performance and Allstate’s reputation.
Lead a team of external communication managers and consultants, creating a high-performance work environment that is flexible and encourages personal accountability, teamwork and ongoing professional growth. Serve as a coach and mentor to develop your team and individuals.
10+ years of previous work experience, preferably in a corporate communications department or public relations agency or consulting firm.
Proven success with program leadership, budget oversight, and building, maintaining and managing traditional and social media and PR at an enterprise level.
In-depth understanding of stakeholder analysis.
A highly effective writing style, and expertise in creating high-impact messaging and in coaching others to improve the clarity, accuracy and effectiveness of internal and external communications.
Experience with effectively sharing corporate social responsibility strategies and related diversity priorities across all media channels to enhance reputation.
Expertise in developing and executing internal communications strategies to create an understanding of corporate priorities and build employee engagement.
Experience as a presenter; confidence presenting to all levels of management.
Knowledge of the insurance and/or financial services industry preferred.
