The University of Pikeville is actively seeking a dynamic and committed professional to serve in the role of Senior Recruiter. This position is highly integral to the continued growth and vibrancy of the institution and will recruit Undergraduate, Osteopathic, and Optometry students. This position reports to the Director of Admissions. The ideal candidate will possess positive energy, exceptional communication skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for recruiting highly qualified prospective students. This position will manage recruitment territories outside of the state of Kentucky. This position helps meet enrollment goals regarding applications, acceptances, and enrolled students.
Communicate consistently and effectively with prospective students and their families in person and via phone, email, text messaging, printed media, and the internet.
Develop long lasting and strong professional relationships with pre-health advisors throughout the nation utilizing email, phone and in-person communication.
Meet quantitative and qualitative departmental goals for applications, admitted and enrolled students.
Work aggressively to increase public awareness of the University of Pikeville.
Supervise the proper and timely acknowledgement of inquiries via phone, email and mail while providing accurate and up to date information.
Learn, develop and implement recruitment strategies and best practices designed to enroll highly qualified new students.
Represent the University and give presentations at a variety of educational fairs and institutions nationally.
Assist with creating and updating promotional materials and social media.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in financial aid, advising, registrar and other campus offices to ensure a consistent and smooth transition from applicant to student.
Interact effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, administrators and the rest of the University community.
Prepare admissions and recruiting reports.
Help oversee application progressions through our SIS systems while observing and complying with all FERPA laws.
Ensure smooth and efficient offering of events and programs, including managing registration and check-in for programs, maintaining rosters of attendees, arranging catering, etc.
Uphold the University of Pikeville Mission Statement.
National travel required with overnight stays. Applicants may expect up to 50% travel for this position.
Perform all job duties within given realistic budget and time constraints.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position requires daily face-to-face contact with faculty, staff, students, and community members in order to disseminate necessary information and coordinate daily operations. These relationships are maintained through e-mail, telephone, and person-to-person contact.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in related field. Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in competitive sales, public relations, recruitment, admissions or closely related field.
Must have strong organizational, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural, socioeconomic and regional differences.
Must have polished presentation/public speaking skills and professional appearance and experience presenting to both small/personal and large/diverse groups of people.
Must have experience working with office equipment and technology and proficient with Microsoft office programs. Must have ability and desire to quickly learn new customer relationship management software.
Valid driver's license and ability to be certified to drive a University or rental vehicle for recruitment travel.
