Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Edit/Media Assistant for The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of RVision and the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications. The Edit/Media Assistant is responsible for developing and editing video content for RVision projects for broadcast, house production and internal use, as well as for select projects as assigned by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, with an emphasis on feature production and promotional material. Coverage of men's and women's basketball will be a particular focus.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Produces and edits feature content for Rutgers athletics teams, with an emphasis on men's and women's basketball, for use on social media, web and in-venue.
Assists the RVision team with the production of highlights, game previews, and promotional videos.
Enables the live video streaming of athletics press conferences and media availabilities.
Assists the RVision Team to produce the streaming of live athletics events for RVision and BTN Student U.
Fulfills requests for video content from media entities.
Produces and edit video content for game recaps and development pieces.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in video production, journalism, public relations, communications, sports management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must perform duties with the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior and in accordance with University, Departmental, Big Ten or other affiliated Conference and NCAA regulations, policies and procedures.
1-3 years of experience in a NCAA Division I video production/media relations office or equivalent of professional level experience.
Experience in EFP/remote sports production, including equipment setup. Experience in producing sporting events and production experience for feature videos required.
Must be well-versed for video editing on the MAC platform. Must have experience with motion graphics compositing.
Will use several high-end TV quality cameras for day-to-day work in covering events and producing feature videos
