Kelly Services Inc., a 5.4 billion world leader in workforce management services and human resources seeks a Brand Development & Innovation Storyteller. This individual will be responsible for supporting the advancement of Kelly’s brand platform, through the execution of creative storytelling and content deliverables, aimed at bringing it to life across every touchpoint. They play a lead role in developing compelling content strategies that directly align to the company’s global brand guidelines and identity strategy.
The Storyteller will partner on strategic brand initiatives with internal teams and external partners, while providing strategic guidance on company brand messaging to the marketing Content and Go-to-Market teams. They will help to guide the infusing of the brand strategy into Kelly content both in B2B and B2C functions, by focusing on human-truth stories and emotional connections with our key audiences/targets.
A key component of the role will be the external and internal evangelism of the brand platform. The Storyteller will work with our internal Communications and HR leaders to put together compelling and regular communications that showcase the Kelly brand strategy and alignment to our desired company culture and noble purpose. In partnership with HR, they will also play a key role crafting, enhancing and executing a compelling company EVP and content platform for our external Kelly employer brand position – aimed at attracting and engaging leading talent to Kelly.
This individual will work as an individual contributor but will indirectly lead internal and external creative/content agency resources. The ability to work with external agency partners is key. They are responsible for advising and supporting the infusion of the brand messaging platform across various company marketing materials, across different mediums and advertising/marketing channels. This role has key interactions with company executives and decision makers across all departments.
In summary, the Storyteller will work in partnership across the Kelly organization to drive brand understanding, infusion and awareness, and will also be expected to develop and guide compelling brand-specific content (e.g., anthemic story-telling) that drives engagement and interest and positions the Kelly brand for success. Infusing innovative marketing techniques and continuously evaluating Kelly's messaging platform(s) will also be a critical component of this role’s success.
Storytelling/Content Strategy, Creation and Execution
Leverages Kelly’s brand platform project/research to establish key brand messages and themes
Guides the infusing of the brand strategy and storytelling opportunities into Kelly content both in B2B and B2C functions
Develops global brand storytelling deliverables in support of strategic products, executive messaging and strategic events; Including case studies, web content, though leadership materials, sales and recruitment messaging, collateral, executive meetings, company events, etc…
Research new, creative ways to tell Kelly’s brand story
Serves as the primary developer of creative, human stories that create emotional connections to our brand
Develops internal employee marketing campaigns/initiatives to drive increased understanding of branding, go-to-market, and innovation projects throughout the company
Develops external messaging/positioning of Kelly’s employer brand in support of HR talent initiatives
Brand Projects + Innovation
Support with special project execution, identifying new ways to bring the brand strategy to life in inspiring ways that capture the imagination of talent and customers and bring Kelly to their attention
Through storytelling and strategic content, supports Innovation projects that propel brand development and creativity
Perform writing duties, acting as a content consultant on the team (i.e. “a working manager”) and an account manager for multiple internal customers and Kelly leaders
Ensure company-wide brand consistency
Establish and govern brand messaging standards and guidelines for use across all marketing channels and Kelly operations (e.g., on sites, branches, internal organizations
Work with appropriate internal partners to ensure brand consistency and alignment, internally and externally.
Responsible for supporting the ongoing enhancement / development Kelly Brand Guidelines
Ensures our brand messaging is used correctly in all touchpoints; Auditing our use of the brand platform and stories to identify gaps, correcting and educating
Advise/critique the content execution of brand standards
Support the team with writing standards to guide ongoing brand development and innovation
Maintain knowledge of creative/brand marketing trends, writing techniques and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism or related field
7-10+ years proven experience as a content specialist or similar role directing content and communication deliverables in a creative environment. Strong interpersonal, collaboration and creative abilities
This role is part creative, part strategic, part influencer, and part evangelist. An ideal candidate must love words—their meaning, their usage, their influence—and have the desire and ability to roll up their sleeves and take the lead with team branding and innovation initiatives. Skills required include:

Experience writing for a variety of communication channels, styles, and voices
Ability to convey strategic messages/concepts in creative and engaging ways

Highly proficient computer skills including email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong sense of the creative design process and how content aligns
Strong leadership, project management and time management skills
Passion for storytelling that inspires great brand outcomes via a team environment
Able to provide comprehensive portfolio of previous communication/content and brand development work
Limited travel may be required
