The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletic Communications in the promotion of York College athletic teams, student-athletes, and coaching staff. This is part-time, 12-month position; schedule is not to exceed an average of 28 hours per week with a cap of 1250 hours for the year.
The candidate should possess a drive to thrive in a fast paced, collegiate athletic department featuring 23 varsity programs. The candidate should have experience in a collegiate or high school athletic setting with an emphasis on communication. The position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Athletic Communications department including, but not limited to, assisting in compiling and tabulating required NCAA statistical information, writing game recaps for each assigned sports, updating the Spartan athletic website, maintaining the Spartans’ social media sites, and assisting in game day video productions.
The candidate should have a degree in sport management, public relations, or mass communications. The job requires unique hours including a number of weekends and nights. The candidate must have the ability to communicate with all the various public including the athletic administration, the Spartan coaching staff, student-athletes, media, and key supporters of the athletic program.
