The Manager, Development & Communication Systems reports to the Director, Public Relations and Marketing. The Manager maintains all systems and software used by the Development and Marketing department, leads prospect identification and direct mail efforts, oversees social media, leads collateral materials efforts, and supports fundraising and marketing efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees all Development and Marketing systems and software, including donor database, email database and website, advocacy and email tools, and other direct marketing systems and technology. Reviews all systems for accuracy.
Manages backend of Marketing and Development departments: designs systems for data entry, gift processing, and acknowledgement of gifts, reports, queries, events registration, confirmation credit charge processing, etc. Super-user for department use of Raiser’s Edge and Luminate database systems; responsible for training all staff in use of system.
Reconciles monthly revenue, department invoicing, and special event expenses with Finance Department.
Supports Chief Development Officer and Senior Director of Major Gifts in updating board records, preparing donor reports, and assisting in giving campaigns. Prepares donor history and helps to prepare for donor meetings.
Supports all donor communications efforts, including email marketing, solicitation and direct mail campaigns.
Researches prospective funders, potential grant sources, industry and agency data, and other topics for grant applications, proposals, and marketing and communications materials. Supplies data to grant writing team for use in prospecting.
Oversees day-of registration and financial transactions for all special events.
Assists with scheduling and organizes meetings, travel, conferences, and department activities for Marketing and Development department.
Coordinates and prepares reports, forms, correspondence, checks, grants, and other material as generated by agency staff.
Supervises work projects by volunteers, members, and temporary employees as needed.
Coordinates and supports outreach efforts (speaker’s bureau, trade shows, educational or promotional efforts), recognition programs, and collaborative partnerships to ensure presence within select markets.
Assists with social media strategy and content, including website management and uploading content using website content management system.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience with Non-Profit Development or Marketing.
Experience with Wordpress, HTML, or other digital content management systems preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, fundraising databases, and non-profit marketing tools (Raiser’s Edge and Convio-Luminate strongly preferred).
Ability to learn and master other computer technology and software programs as needed.
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office work).
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading, visual inspection.
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound.
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
