General Position Description: The Director of Communications is a strategic thinker with excellent customer service and management skills. The role is primarily responsible for gaining positive media exposure for the College at local, regional and national levels. He/ she serves as the designated spokesperson for the College and as liaison to print and broadcast media. This role plans and conducts a communications public relations strategy designed to create and maintain a favorable public image of the College across a wide range of audiences. The incumbent plans and directs development and communication of information designed to keep the public informed of the College's programs, accomplishments, and mission. He/she is a key advisor and is a member of the College crisis communication team. The employee arranges public relations initiatives/ campaigns in order to meet needs, objectives, and policies of the college aligned with strategic goals and objectives.
