Public Relations Specialist - Contractual C1 - (180000Z0)
The University of Maryland is seeking an entry-level Public Relations Specialist to support the Office of Communications & Public Affairs. This temporary contractual position will be providing general support to various department projects in marketing, communications, and public relations.
**This position is a non-benefited, Contingent Category I contractual position.**
Coordinate marketing projects for the Schools (SOD, SOP, SON)
Ensure the timely delivery of client projects by creating realistic production timelines
Assemble and schedule email invitations, newsletters, and announcements through Constant Contact
Pull high-level email analytics when requested
Assist with internal billing and time tracking for the department
Coordinate the scheduling of photo shoots and web updates for Live Near Your Work
May update website in T4 platform specifics
Submit digital signage to displays across campus
Submit content to The Elm, Elm Weekly, and the Common Calendar when appropriate
Coordinate printing and shipping with vendors when appropriate
Field miscellaneous client requests and questions, ensuring that these requests get in front of the right person in the department
Education: Bachelors in related field, such as marketing, communications, English, journalism, etc.
Skill in the mechanics of the English language; in the use of personal computers and word processing software. Ability to gather information from a variety of sources and to draft articles according to a particular style, format, or audience; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are not eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union).
SalaryRange: $18.32 hourly
