The Philanthropy Education Fellow is part of a successful Alumni Annual Fund (AAF) team. Collectively, the AAF raises $9 million from alumni, parents, and friends of the College, and consistently leads the alumni participation nationwide with a goal of 50% or more. The goal for the AAF is to drive innovation in the Fund, leading Carleton to become a national model for annual giving programs. We work to maintain best-practice participation while meeting the goals for the operating budget and identifying areas of growth.
The Philanthropy Education Fellow will work in close collaboration with various members of the AAF and Alumni Relations teams. The Fellow will plan and implement an outreach program to engage and educate members of the student body and recent graduates in the life of the college and their future role as alumni. They will also identity, recruit, cultivate, motivate, support and steward alumni volunteers (class agents and assistant agents) for the youngest six alumni classes, including the 5th reunion class and the “Jumpstart” reunion training weekend.
This is a full-time, exempt, three-year fellowship position that is eligible for Carleton’s full benefits package. Some travel, as well as some evening and weekend work is expected.

The successful candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in a related field and has one to three years previous experience in education fundraising or comparable experience. Must have an appreciation for and commitment to the liberal arts mission and have the ability to think creatively, critically, and strategically about all aspects of alumni engagement and development at Carleton.
