Serve as the Communications & Public Relations Manager for the UC Irvine College of Health Sciences (CoHS) with primary responsibility for development and implementation of a comprehensive, vigorous and measurable strategic internal and external communications as well as public relations program that enhances the overall goals and priorities of the CoHS among key stakeholders, including media, alumni, donors and students. Major responsibilities include management, development, evaluation and implementation of strategies, programs and materials to effectively communicate and promote CoHS's mission to targeted constituencies worldwide. Oversee communications strategy and promotion of programming for the Vice Chancellor Health Affair's office and Schools in CoHS. Coordinate with UCI's office of Strategic Communications & Public Affairs and UCI Medical Center's office of Marketing and Communications. Participates as a member of the Vice Chancellor Health Affair's senior management team. Job duties include strategy development, visioning, branding, content creation (text and image) for print, digital and real-time presentations, project management, production management on special initiatives, strategic relationship cultivation and management, media and public relations, events counsel and administration of staff and budget. Incumbent functions under the general supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor, and coordinates closely with the Assistant Dean for the School of Medicine Dean's Office, UCI's office of Strategic Communications & Public Affairs and UCI Medical Center's office of Marketing and Communications. Independently establishes priorities and tasks to accomplish assigned duties and to achieve program goals. Periodic meetings are held for review, assessment and planning. Works closely with each School's staff who coordinate events and have communications duties. The incumbent will collaborate with internal senior leaders (example: Human Resources, Finance, Compliance, etc) to evaluate current faculty, employee, and student communications to ensure alignment with the university's vision, strategy and goals to develop and implement a strategic communication plan.
