Essential Job Duties:
The Associate Director for Data Analytics and Reporting in the Office of Annual Giving reports to the Executive Director of Annual Giving and supports all fund raising efforts managed by the department. This position will serve as a part of the University Development's team and will work to support and collaborate with all areas of University Advancement in conjunction with the Think & Do the Extraordinary Campaign.
This Associate Director for Data Analytics and Reporting is responsible for leading strategy and new initiatives, particularly those related to phone and digital channels; establishing and fulfilling annual goals; and managing the assessment and execution of various strategies, mailings, segmentation and campaigns for all broad based marketing channels.
Collaborate with Annual Giving team to develop and reach annual goals and objectives for various audiences and channels; create, implement and assess segmentation and marketing strategies for phone, mail, and web/digital channels.
Lead development and integration of multiple yearly strategic initiatives for various audiences and channels that lead to an annual increase in revenue and key participation metrics.
Track progress to goals for various audiences and channels ensuring that staff members responsible for various projects are on target to reach goals.
Manage all data-related needs and initiatives for the Annual Giving office, including production of data for solicitation mailings and emails, data mining, modeling, reporting, goal-setting, project analysis, surveying, test marketing, and evaluation of solicitation segmentation.
Analyze annual giving data and trends to provide recommendations for audience segmentation, messaging, and solicitation policies, and use analysis to identify untapped segments and potential opportunities for program growth.
Analyze costs and returns for all communications; examine messaging, form of contact and timing. Examine process of current initiatives on a monthly basis, and provide regular progress assessments, including year-end reports.
Liaison with phone vendor in the management of a 20 station, 50+ employee call center. Monitor phone performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis through assessment of phone reports and regular meetings with manager. Make recommendations to ensure that annual giving goals are met and industry best practices are followed.
Collaborate and coordinate with Annual Giving staff and Call Center manager to ensure that mail, phone, and digital schedules and strategies are integrated and consistent, and provide proper guidance and assistance when special Annual Giving projects and initiatives arise.
Oversee and manage all data transfers between NCSU Advancement Services and vendors, and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Lead all PCI Compliance efforts and documentation in the Annual Giving office and ensure continued compliance.
Work as office liaison with Advancement Services, Alumni & Donor Records, Admissions, Registration and Records, and OIT to ensure timely and quality data support and gift recording accuracy.
Requires a relevant post-Baccalaureate degree with a minimum of three (3) years or greater of related professional experience, or a relevant undergraduate degree and a minimum of five (5) years or greater of relevant experience may be substituted for the advanced degree.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex, team-oriented environment
Ability to articulate the case for support and university vision, mission and goals with sufficient effectiveness to meet programmatic goals each year

Experience with database management (preferably Advance)

Proven experience (typically five or more years of professional experience and program management) in fundraising, student affairs, marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or a related field.
Experience working with phone solicitations
Knowledge of PCI Compliance standards
Knowledge of principles, practices and ethics of fundraising
Prior experience in a comprehensive capital campaign¬
Personal belief in mission, goals and objectives of private higher education and philanthropy
An understanding of the land¬ grant, research Tier One university environment
Familiarity with NC State University and the Triangle
Required license or certification:
