The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for providing primary health care to the students at Texas A&M University.
Required Education and Experience:â‹
Completion of a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Eligible to be licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner by the State of Texas.
Candidate must be licensed prior to start date.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

This is a part-time position.
Preferred Education and Experience:
2 yearsâ™ experience in Womenâ™s Health.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
Board Certified in Womenâ™s Health.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Provides primary health care to students enrolled at Texas A&M University, which includes medical examinations, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescribing medications or treatments, contraception management, and counseling or educating patients on health maintenance, disease/ and injury prevention, and healthy lifestyles.
Recognizes the need for consultation and/or referral for illness/injury outside the scope of practice/expertise of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Completes legible, accurate and appropriate documentation of the patientâ™s encounter in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
Acts in accordance with all relevant licensing boards, local, state, and federal laws regulating Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
Supports the policies and procedures of Student Health Services, the division of Student Affairs, Texas A&M University, and acts as an advocate from them in communication with patients.
Acts in a professional manner, with good communication and public relations skills, and promotes a cooperative atmosphere.
Serves on clinic committees as assigned, participates in the accreditation process, and assists with in-service education and preparation of educational materials. Performs other duties as assigned.
