Provides highly skilled consulting and counseling services to South Carolina small businesses to foster economic development in creating new businesses, expanding existing business and developing businesses opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES:
65% - Essential - Customer Service,Consulting and Counseling: Consults and counsels prospective and existing businesses in finance, loan packaging, marketing and management issues.
15% - Essential - Training and Development: Plans, promotes and provides business seminars and workshops relating to business start-up, planning, financing and marketing. Participates in professional development seminars and classes.
10% - Essential - Program Administration: Administers and maintains client files and follows-up on inquiries. Ensures clients receive information in a timely manner. Works with Area Manager in the creation and transmission of reports.
10% - Essential - Public Relations Administration: Supports and promotes SBDC services through public relations activities, including participation in local business groups. Chamber of Commerce and economic development alliances. Disseminates information to these groups through public speaking, public media and other personal contact. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. RESPONSIBILITIES:
