The Division of AcademicSuccess and Transitions at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invitesapplications for the position of Director of Educational Advancement Program, aFederal TRiO Student Support Services grant-funded program.

TheDivision: The Division of Academic Success and Transitions is comprised of fourdepartments devoted to undergraduate student success; Student Success Center,First-Year Studies, Educational Advancement Program (Federally funded TRiOgrant), and the Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships. In addition,the division works closely with the undergraduate academic advising community.
Thepurpose: The incumbent will serve as the Principal Investigator of the U.S.Department of Education Office of Federal TRiO Programs (Student SupportServices) and Director of the Educational Advancement Program department. Theincumbent reports directly to the Associate Vice Provost for Student Success.
Administerthe project in accordance with the plan of operation specified in the proposaland grant documents and the regulations of the grant and U.S. Uniform Guidance.Write and assemble the grant proposal to be submitted to the Department ofEducation every grant cycle.Organize,plan, schedule, and delegate responsibility for all workshops, seminars, andother program components. Create or supervise the creation of all programexternal and internal communication materials. Identify and market to eligiblestudents to become program participants.
Hire,train, and supervise all project personnel and department staff. Staff consistsof counselor, tutor coordinator, administrative specialist, several FederalWork Study students, and two Graduate Research Assistants. Responsible forbudget for the grant, cost share, and department.Authorize purchasing of instructional,tutorial, and other learning materials for the program. Follow establishedpolicies of the University's Office of Sponsored Programs, Sponsored ProjectsAccounting, and U.S. Uniform Guidance.
Maintainstudent data and program performance data to submit to the Department ofEducation Annual Performance Report and division annual performance report andaction plans.
Actas the liaison between department chairpersons and their faculty and program,and implement student services provided by the program. Serve on institutionalcommittees that impact the progress and success of program participants. Serveas counselor for a caseload of approximately 40 program participants.
