Job Summary The Ticket Office Assistant works with the Ticket Office Administrator and in their absence ensures that all revenues are properly received, deposited and credited, that the ProVenue ticketing and sales database are maintained, that event-site Box Office cash receipts and transactions are secure, and that all who contact or do business with the Ticket Office or Box Office receive the highest quality customer service. All transactions must meet the standards of compliance for cash management and record keeping set by Caltech and external auditors.
The Ticket Office Assistant reports to the Manager of the Ticket Office.
This is an on-call position, hours and days vary, including evenings and weekends
Job Duties - Respond to general and event-specific inquiries and receive ticket orders for Caltech programs - Process and distribute ticket orders, Caltech photo license agreements, and other customer service functions as assigned - Run daily and periodic sales reports for designated managers in Campus Programs and DIR - Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications - Associate degree or equivalent - Two years of work experience in retail sales or other customer service environment - Knowledge of basic math functions - Attention to detail - Working knowledge of basic computer applications and Microsoft Office, with demonstrated intermediate Excel skills - Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills - Good judgment and problem solving skills - Ability to work well as a team member, flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of programs and projects - Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends - Physical strength to lift up to 30 pounds on a daily basis including pushing and pulling box office units and ticketing system carts - Ability to bend and stretch in all directions, squeeze with arms and hands, and work outdoors in all kinds of weather - Demonstrate the ability to practice and adhere to organizational values
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree with emphasis in business or accounting - Experience with event ticketing operations - Knowledge of box office ticketing software (familiarity with ProVenue)
