Quinnipiac University invites applications for an exciting position of Associate Athletic Director, Athletic Communications to navigate the rapidly changing world of communications and position the department of athletics to take advantage of opportunities to build the Quinnipiac Athletics brand through outbound media, video, online resources, social media and emerging mediums. In this role, you will create compelling content as well as plan, organize and direct all communication (including news releases, general features, photography, statistics, press box/game day operations, publications, live events production, social media and digital media). The Associate Director will have sports responsibility and will also oversee and direct media and public relations efforts, the content and production of the Quinnipiac Bobcats website, as well as the Department's public information messaging.

Oversee the supervision, management, staffing and production of all broadcasts and live streaming for Quinnipiac Athletics events, as well as coordination of all social media
Plan and schedule event coverage for SID staff for all sports, home and away
Coordinate with Public Affairs and oversee department publicity and media relations strategies in conjunction with campus messaging, handle media inquiries, and develop and maintain contacts with local and national media
Lead collaboration with other external departments and sport programs, providing direction and leadership towards achieving exposure and revenue goals as well as ensuring the development of digital, social and creative strategies for branded content across all departmental and sport program social media accounts
Ensure publications meet the quality control standards of the department
Coordinate/delegate the hiring and management of wage student and gameday personnel
Provide leadership and direction, to effectively motivate, delegate, train, supervise and evaluate staff
Create policies and procedures to guide staff
Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
A minimum of five to seven years of experience in media communications preference in athletics communications in higher education
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar graphic design and video production platforms
Demonstrated evidence of the ability to maintain confidentiality and handling of sensitive information
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
Must demonstrate the ability to organize and establish priorities
Considerable initiative and creativity is necessary while also displaying the ability to assume responsibility and work as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability and commitment to work effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds
