<p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Note: Continuation of this position beyond three (3) years is contingent upon the availability of work and funds for the position.</span></span></strong></p><p>Description<br />Second level professional communications work in the areas of marketing and public/internal relations, responsible for programmatic communications and marketing planning and implementation, content creation, and project management.<br /><br />Programmatic Communication and Marketing Duties – 45%<br />Creates, implements, analyzes, and evaluates the school and institutes programs and events (workshops, courses, conferences, and other misc events both free and paid for the school and institute).<br />Develops communication and marketing plans for events, services, and activities that are in line with a greater school’s communications and/or marketing strategy. Acts as PR and Media Coordinator, developing all advertising, marketing and public relations materials to promote and reinforce the strategic communication. This includes marketing and communication outreach for the Institute’s paid conferences, workshops, and short courses in addition to the Institutes consulting center.<br />Creates press packets for news outlets announcing faculty/student/alumni achievements. Designs invitations, flyers and announcements for the school and institutes events. Creates specialized or technical materials for marketing, publication, and/or public or internal relations as needed.<br />Engages with other University colleges and departments, the media, or the public on questions, comments, or requests for information. Including, responding to information about upcoming events and the service center.<br />Develops marketing materials for prospective students. Identifies promotional or advertising opportunities, analyzes existing markets.<br />Designs and implements the school’s current website. Works with OIT to create a visually exciting site that fits within the set format. SKILLS NEEDED: extensive Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Drupal, Google Suite, Word, PowerPoint, HTML, Java, and more.<br />Develops and maintains the school and institutes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube pages. Analyzes web usage to identify trends in new media communication tools and social media.<br />Other programmatic and marketing duties as assigned.<br /><br />Event Planning - 40%<br />Responsible for all logistical planning related to guest speakers, group meetings, seminars and conferences, including collateral organization and development, communications, space planning, budget development and monitoring, reservations, contracts for travel or catering, refreshments, and A/V setup and support<br />Coordinate logistics for travel and presentations of guest speakers<br />Work closely with faculty and department planners to organize agendas for guest speaker visits across departments<br />Negotiate vendor agreements, contracts and permits for events<br />Publicize conferences and seminars using university and industry contacts database<br />Setting up event registration, using destiny one<br /><br />Consulting Center Logistics (Administrative Support)- 10%<br />First point of contact for consulting clients.<br />Managing consulting appointments.<br />Tracking Consulting time and contracts<br /><br />Financial/Fiscal Oversight for Institute 5%<br />Responsible for the the day to day fiscal oversight of the Institute and its consulting center.<br />Purchasing Contracts, Reimbursements<br />other misc fiscal tasks. </p><p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;">Required Qualifications:</span></p><p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;">Bachelor’s degree in Art, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four (4) years.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;">Preferred Qualifications:</span></p><p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;">Bachelor's degree plus 2 years professional experience, or 6 years combined equivalent education and experience.</span></p><p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;">Two or more years of event planning experience.</span></p>
