Supervises, coordinates and directs activities of personnel involved in maintaining public use outdoor facilities and development and delivery of education and recreation programs at multiple park locations. Develops and oversees revenue collection procedures. Develops park, recreational areas and eduation and recreation program procedures including monitoring of facility usage, maintenance standards, safety protocols and policies and records management. Initiates entrepreneurial opportunities to expand visitation to the park and to meet recoverable cost goals.
Provides leadership and direction by developing goals, objectives, priorities, plans and procedures. Makes recommendations and proposals to management as required. Provides leadership and direction to staff. Hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates and manages performance, determines compensation of subordinate staff in compliance with human resources policies and handles all aspects of staff supervision. Maintains awareness of department issues and responds to employee needs and concerns. Communicates with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information. Ensures staff complete work in safe, timely manner in accordance with established standards. Manages financial performance including but not limited to one or more of the following: revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, investments and operating budgets. Participates in the development and oversight of public use outdoor facilities including providing information, assistance and directions to the general public regarding the park and the use of its facilities; interpreting policies and procedures; and coordinating and monitoring work of contractors. Develops and implements a comprehensive park maintenance program including oversight and management of leases, contracts, interlocal, in-kind and operational agreements with other public agencies or private entities. Ensures park facilities, vehicles and equipment are maintained at an appropriate level through frequent inspections. Initiates work directives to correct minor discrepancies. Provides input to supply management regarding requirements for contractor quotes for major repairs. Develops specifications for requisition of supplies, materials and equipment. Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence. Performs work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations as needed.

Nine or more years experience in park operations and administration or educational and recreational programming, development and execution. A degree(s) in parks and recreation, education , business, communications, marketing, public relations, government affairs, political science, technical area of specialty or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
