Rutgers University — Camden is in search of Content Writer and Strategist to join our newly created Marketing team. Responsibilities include planning and managing the strategic communications & brand positioning of campus with the goal of creating compelling content in both written and multimedia form; building positive buzz through print and digital products, compelling messages email newsletters, social media platforms, brochures, and website networks; creating a strategic & consistent voice across campus that represent the school’s brand; attracting top students through memorable marketing campaigns; building “Thought Leadership” events and content to create awareness for the campus; and expanding social media networks and multimedia channels to extend the campus’s brand awareness.This role, will work to develop content strategies including creation, distribution and tracking, ranging from brochures, emails, web content, to social and articles . Candidates should have excellent writing and editing skills, and experience with content strategy planning. In this role, you will facilitate content curation aligned with key business objectives, facilitate social content planning and work with teams across campus to execute those plans.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism, or related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven track record of producing written content that increases engagement. Strong editing/proofreading skills. Extensive research skills and the ability to leverage online sources/studies for content development. Advanced creative writing experience with an ability to understand the company’s brand tone and translate that into effective content that drives engagement. The ability to work with a cross-functional team to guide development of shared, multi-channel strategy. Strong project management and problem solving skills with an ability to create project plans and manage through seamless execution. Analytical expertise in assessing content trends and campaign analysis. Experience with Higher Education and/or agency expirence a plus but not a requirement. Must be able to analyze, process, and organize large quantities of complex information from a variety of sources. Must be experienced and comfortable with social media and email communications as a communications tool. Ability to think broadly and conceptually and formulate creative solutions to communication problems.
Knowledge of Salesforce/Pardot and Inbound marketing techniques
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
