The Assistant Director will direct and manage the operations of the Game-day group within Go Heels Productions. This group's purpose is to develop and execute production of in-venue entertainment at University of North Carolina Athletic competitions. In addition to managing the in-venue game presentation for all varsity sports, this person will serve as the managing producer for the highest profile sports and largest athletic venues. This individual will develop strategies to engage and entertain fans, to tell the story of Carolina's student-athletes, coaches and sport programs, and work to integrate sponsorship elements into the in-venue presentation. This individual will have the responsibility of developing and executing productions that will have multimillion dollar impact to the Athletic Department through sponsorship revenue and ticket sales. This person will manage the execution of these elements by managing more than forty full time, part time and freelance personnel. This person will possess strong creative, leadership and communication skills to develop and implement strategies.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Experience serving as a game day producer including coordinating video, PA, band and other elements. Requires a professional level knowledge of non-linear editing programs such as Adobe Premiere. Knowledge of other graphics programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe AfterEffects and other applicable Adobe Creative Suite platforms are required. Must have intimate knowledge of professional video production. Knowledge of operating digital video cameras, planning, lighting, framing, audio acquisition, editing, encoding and other elements. Requires knowledge of mixing and editing video and audio for broadcast output. Live event production: Understanding of roles, equipment, and techniques needed to execute a multi-camera live production. Includes moderate level knowledge of production switchers, Ross Xpression graphics, professional-level replay systems, data integration and other components needed to execute gameday productions. Supervisory Skills: The ability to supervise full time, part time and student assistants. Creativity is crucial for the building of all projects. Products need to be motivating, invigorating and aspirational for viewers. The ability to create elements that are original and special is essential. Requires the ability to work many long hours, especially during the academic year.

Experience in writing game scripts and production rundowns A creative powerhouse who loves to inform and entertain Strong sports knowledge – rules, regulations, timing and customs Working knowledge of NCAA compliance regulations as they relate to video acquisition and distribution.
