Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is seeking a Digital Media Coordinator to maintain, update, and promote the college website. This person will also be responsible for producing videos and serving as the college in-house photographer.
Maintaining the college website could include designing new program and landing pages, updating content and visual elements, designing contact or registration forms, all while maintaining the best Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practices and accessibility standards. This person will follow best practices to highlight students, alumni, staff, and faculty research.
Additionally, this position will work with the director of marketing and alumni relations to develop concepts and messages that support the college's strategic plan through video and photography. The Digital Media Coordinator will manage the coordination of talent, and coordinate schedules of all photo and video shoots. In addition, the successful candidate will manage all video and still photo libraries along with distribution of the media to internal and external clients. This position will work closely with the marketing team and assist in social media, events, and other marketing tasks.
The successful candidate will be a creative thinker and independent worker; be customer service oriented, and have the ability to work independently and in a team environment. The person in this position will maintain and build on the visual identity of the college and will have exceptional communication skills. This person must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines, all having the ability to work professionally with a diverse group of individuals.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Additional years of related experience
Experience that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CMS, Word Press (and themes), their capabilities, and knowledge of SEO writing, CSS stylesheet editing
Experience designing and maintaining a web site
Experience in video production
Experience with industry standard image and video editing software.
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm but must be able to accommodate occasional evening and weekend events and travel to on-site locations.
