The Director of Career Advising is an important leadership role in the College of Arts and Sciences and Maxwell advising team.
This position will be a professional leader overseeing all aspects of career services support provided to undergraduate students.
Primary responsibilities include developing and managing all programmatic aspects of the career advising program with the goal of increasing participation of students and student groups in the career related services, events (e.g., career fairs, information sessions, etc.) and programs. Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with employers, expanding employer involvement in programs and events related to the recruitment of Arts and Sciences and Maxwell students for experiential learning, internships, and full-time job opportunities. Building relationships, creating partnerships, and collaborating with university departments, faculty, and student groups. Additionally, the successful candidate will work closely with a team of academic and career/professional advisors to provide students with coordinated academic and career advising.
This role requires collaboration with the advising team, faculty, and departments to provide outstanding service to our students, supporting their academic and professional goals and timely completion of their degrees.
Bringing experience and expertise to the role, the successful candidate should also possess an intellectual curiosity to foster continued professional growth and a willingness to learn new approaches to supporting students.
