What you will do:
Cornell's new Small Animal Community Practice (CP), is a state-of-the-art, stand-alone facility offering preventative medicine, radiology, surgery and dentistry services. We are seeking a passionate, tech-savvy, experienced Operations Manager who will be an integral member of the hospital leadership team responsible for overseeing the daily administrative operations of the CP facility, including, but not limited to staff supervision, leadership, client experience, monitoring key performance metrics, assisting with annual planning, budget and hospital productivity levels, purchasing and inventory management, and practice software and systems. This position is instrumental in building a teaching environment for our DVM students that prepares them to be practice ready, while fostering critical thinking and effective communication. Along with the Community Practice, you will be responsible for, and partner with, hospital leadership to provide administrative, operational and project support to the Equine and Nemo Farm Animal Hospital, the Wildlife Clinic and Ambulatory Service.
Specifically, you will:
Lead and mentor high-performing staff and students who will realize their full professional potential and deliver outstanding, primary veterinary care, client service and cost-effective business practices.
Manage staff team of the small animal community practice, ensuring all personnel remain informed, engaged and have opportunities to provide feedback.
Continuously build partnerships by collaborating with internal and external constituents to fulfill daily operational IT, maintenance, HR and business needs
Organize outreach, satisfaction and marketing programs with the college marketing and communications team to referring veterinarians and local community for primary care and large animal units
Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and continual improvement based on best practices and industry benchmarks to maximize productivity, profitability and growth.

What are the Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline and 3-5 years veterinary primary/general practice management or related business management experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification preferred;
We will also consider a Licensed Veterinary Technician with at least 5 years of related business or practice management experience;
Experience in a supervisory or managerial role required;
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; excellent verbal, listening, written, and presentation skills;
Strong interest in innovative technology implementations;
Skilled at working independently and in a team environment;
Demonstrated marketing, customer experience and public relations skills and experience;
Effectively collaborates to produce well thought out and innovative solutions while challenging the status quo and providing a fresh perspective;
Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation to follow through on responsibilities in a timely manner.
