The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta is looking for candidates for a full-time (40 hours/week) entry-level writer position in CDC’s Division of Public Affairs. This is a paid internship position assigned to the External and Employee Relations Branch to serve as a staff writer for CDC Connects, the intranet portal/online newspaper that serves employees across the agency.
The position involves a wide-range of internal communication activities, including developing and writing stories, interviewing CDC leaders and staff members, covering employee engagement activities and other special events or programs, preparing blog topics, posting articles and information on the CDC Connects website, some editing, adhering to writing deadlines, and assisting with other communications assignments, as needed. Photography experience desired, but not required.
