COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, Center for International Studies-MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI), to promote the mission and goals of MISTI through the development and implementation of external and internal communications strategies, programs, events, publications, and projects. Will collaborate with MISTI program managers to advance the communications and outreach goals of MISTI country programs and to improve its internal communications to better support the programs' needs; develop and implement communications strategies around fund-raising goals and activities; develop and maintain MISTI websites; design and produce new marketing materials; write content for news articles and marketing materials; oversee creation of videos for program promotion and student training; collaborate with other staff to advance goals and create a unified strategic communications plan across programs; and reach out across the Institute to raise the visibility of MISTI programs for students and faculty. Will report to the executive director and supervise MISTI's senior communications assistant.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least five years' progressive communications experience; excellent editorial and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to produce effective written marketing materials; strong understanding of production requirements, including web, mobile, video, social and email platforms; strong project management skills; ability to keep track of multiple priorities and tight deadlines; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse and high-level group of individuals and to understand and communicate information regarding MISTI's mission and priorities in order to develop and implement marketing strategies; awareness of marketing and communication best practices; and proficiency with standard office, design, and web-editing applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker, Adobe Design Suite, and Drupal.
